Daily Routine
Rhythms That Support Growth
At Cedar Grove Day Nursery, we believe in creating a warm, consistent routine that helps children feel secure, confident, and ready to explore the world around them.
We’re currently finalising our daily schedules for each age group, and will share a full breakdown here soon.
What can you expect from a typical day?
While specific timings may vary by room, each day at Cedar Grove will include a balance of:
- Free Play: Time to explore toys, books, sensory stations and activities at each child’s own pace
- Adult-led Learning & Group Time: Stories, music, mark-making, numbers, letters and themed activities to support development
- Outdoor Play: Daily time in our secure garden, with space to climb, ride, run, and explore nature
- Mealtimes & Snacks: Nutritious meals and snacks prepared on-site and shared together to build healthy habits
- Rest & Nap Times: Cosy, quiet spaces for sleep and rest, following each child’s individual routine
- Circle Time & Reflection: Songs, sharing, and winding down to help develop social skills and confidence
We tailor our routine to suit each age group and ensure a gentle rhythm that supports all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Coming Soon:
We’ll soon publish full example routines for:
- Babies (3m – 2y)
- Toddlers (2 – 3y)
- Preschool (3 – 5y)
