Your Peace of Mind Matters
At Cedar Grove Day Nursery, we understand how important it is for parents to feel informed, supported and confident when choosing childcare. This page provides everything you need to know as a parent — from what to bring on your child’s first day, to how we communicate with you while they’re with us.
We are here to support you every step of the way.
What to Bring
We aim to make your nursery experience as easy as possible by including most everyday essentials in our fees.
Please send your child with:
- A full change of clothes (or two)
- Weather-appropriate clothing (e.g. coats, wellies, sunhats)
- A comforter, if they use one
- Any prescribed creams or medications (labelled)
✅ We provide:
- Nappies
- Wipes
- Barrier creams
- Meals and snacks
- Formula milk
- Drinking water and milk throughout the day
Settling In
We offer a flexible settling-in period before your child’s official start date. These short sessions are designed to help your child get familiar with our environment, staff, and routines at a gentle pace.
You’re welcome to stay for part of these visits, and we’ll adapt the transition based on your child’s needs.
Key Person Approach
Every child is assigned a dedicated key person who will support them closely throughout their time at nursery. This person will get to know your child’s personality, interests, and routine — and will be your main point of contact for daily feedback and developmental updates.
Communication with Parents
We believe in open and regular communication with families. Here’s how we keep you informed:
- Daily handovers at drop-off and pick-up
- Photos and updates shared via our nursery app or email
- Regular progress reviews and learning summaries
- Quick communication for anything urgent
We’re always happy to talk — whether it’s a quick question or a longer conversation.
Food & Nutrition
We provide freshly prepared meals and snacks each day, tailored to children’s dietary needs and preferences. We promote healthy eating habits and encourage children to try a variety of nutritious foods.
All meals, snacks, drinks, and formula milk are included in your fees.
Please inform us of any allergies, intolerances, or special dietary requirements.
Health, Illness & Medication
If your child becomes unwell while at nursery, we will contact you immediately. We can administer prescribed medication, with written permission.
Please ensure we are kept up to date with any allergies, health needs, or medication changes.
We also follow strict hygiene and cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of illness.
Outdoor Play
Children at Cedar Grove enjoy daily outdoor play in our secure garden — rain or shine! Our outdoor area includes age-appropriate equipment and a safe surface for exploring and movement.
Please dress your child in appropriate clothing for the weather.
Opening Hours & Term Dates
- Open: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 6:30pm
- Closed: Bank holidays and over the Christmas period
- We will provide you with an annual nursery calendar on registration.
