Meals and snacks are prepared on-site, with time to enjoy food, talk together and practise everyday skills. We work with families to understand each child’s needs.

Come and meet us

Freshly prepared, throughout the day.

We provide meals and snacks, with milk and drinking water available through the day. Formula milk is also included in the nursery’s supplied essentials. Please discuss your baby’s feeding routine and requirements with the team before they start.

Breakfast finishes at 8:30am, morning snack is usually around 10:00am, lunch is at 11:30am and tea at 4:00pm. These times are a guide; babies’ feeds and children’s individual needs are supported flexibly.

More than a meal.

Mealtimes are social, unhurried opportunities to learn. Adults sit alongside children, model conversation and encourage them to explore food at their own pace. Children can practise using utensils, making choices and helping with manageable tasks, with support suited to their development.

We encourage positive experiences with food and respect children’s cues. Practitioners support children while eating and adapt the help they offer to the child’s stage and needs.

Dietary needs and allergies.

Tell us about allergies, intolerances, medical dietary needs, cultural or religious requirements and preferences before your child starts. We will discuss the arrangements together and keep the relevant information available to staff who need it.

Please tell the team promptly about any changes, including new advice or medication. Any food or drink brought from home should be agreed with the nursery so that individual needs and other children’s safety can be considered.
