Movement and growing confidence.

The garden includes a wet-pour safety surface, a climbing structure, ride-on toys and sensory play stations. Children can practise balance, coordination and strength through suitable movement and play. Adults offer encouragement and help children judge manageable challenges.

Babies and younger children have opportunities for outdoor sensory exploration and movement with close support. We make use of indoor and outdoor spaces as conditions allow, with free-flow access wherever possible.

Little things to look closely at.

A leaf, a breeze, a puddle or a change in the weather can start a conversation. Children explore texture, sound, movement and natural patterns, building vocabulary and curiosity. Practitioners help them notice changes, ask questions and handle living things with care.

Making, imagining and cooperating.

Outdoor materials and sensory experiences invite children to create stories, make patterns and test ideas. Carrying, filling, pouring and building can become a shared project, giving children a reason to negotiate, solve problems and help each other.

Ready for the weather.

Please bring named clothing suited to the season: a coat and wellies for wet or cold days, a sunhat for warmer weather, and spare clothes for messy discoveries. Speak to the team about sun protection and any individual needs. We adjust outdoor experiences when weather or conditions call for it.
