TODDLERS · 2–3 YEARS
A world of ideas.
A growing “I can”.
Toddlers learn through curiosity, relationships and everyday action. We make room for their ideas, help them manage big feelings and encourage growing confidence.
Come and meet us
Confidence grows through relationships.
A trusted adult helps children name feelings, find comfort and begin to understand what another person might need. We model calm, clear language, offer manageable choices and help children return to play after a difficult moment. Sharing and turn-taking take practice; adults stay close and guide shared play with patience.
Your key person works with you on routines, communication and everyday skills, including toilet learning when your child is ready. We keep expectations consistent and responsive to the child.
Time to try an idea.
Pretend play, messy materials, books, construction, movement and the garden invite toddlers to explore cause and effect. Practitioners notice what interests a child and add words, objects or a gentle question that helps them think. We allow time to repeat, test and adapt an idea before stepping in.
Growing in their own way.
- Expressing needs and ideas with growing confidence, using their own ways of communicating.
- Beginning to play alongside and with other children.
- Trying another way when something does not work.
- Joining in dressing, handwashing, tidying or mealtimes with support.
- Seeking help with feelings and beginning to recognise familiar boundaries.
We notice progress through everyday play and conversations with you. Around age two, the progress check brings together strengths and any areas where further support may help.
A rhythm that leaves room for discovery.
There is time for chosen play, adult-supported experiences, books, songs, meals, outdoor activity and rest. We balance active and quieter moments, adapt group experiences and make space for a child who needs to pause.

We discuss the move with you when your child is ready, introduce new adults and routines gradually and share what helps them feel secure. Their interests, friendships, care needs and progress travel with them.
