BABIES · 3–15 MONTHS

A familiar face.
A secure beginning.

Gentle, responsive care gives babies the security to look, listen, move and discover. We begin with your baby, their cues and the knowledge you bring from home.

Care begins with connection.

A familiar key person takes time to learn what your baby enjoys, how they ask for comfort and when they need a pause. Warm voices, close attention and reassuring responses help build trust. We talk to babies during everyday care, wait for their response and treat their expressions, movements and sounds as meaningful communication.

You help us understand feeding and sleep routines, comforting words, family languages and favourite songs. Daily handovers and Famly updates keep that knowledge flowing both ways.

Small cues. Big discoveries.

Practitioners get down to a baby’s level, follow their gaze and offer safe, age-appropriate things to explore. A reaching hand may invite a texture to touch; a turned head may tell us that it is time to stop. Repeated songs, face-to-face games, shared books and supported floor play give babies time to revisit familiar experiences.

Noticing their own next steps.

Progress is personal. We notice changes over time and share them with you, rather than expecting every baby to reach the same point at the same age.

  • Seeking reassurance from a familiar adult, then returning to play.
  • Turning towards a voice or sound, exchanging looks, smiles or babble.
  • Reaching, grasping and exploring objects in new ways.
  • Showing preferences and becoming more confident with movement.

If either you or the team has a concern, we talk together and consider helpful support and advice early.

A day shaped around your baby.

Feeding, sleep, nappy changes and comfort are part of learning and relationship-building. We follow individual routines agreed with you, with quiet spaces, sensory exploration and suitable outdoor experiences between care moments. The wider nursery timetable is a guide; babies eat and rest in response to their needs.

A gentle move to Teenies.

Around the next stage, we discuss readiness with you and plan familiarisation in Teenies. Short visits, familiar adults and the sharing of routines help make the move gradual. Age ranges guide our rooms; your child’s confidence, development and wellbeing guide the conversation.
